Discounted Summer Holidays: Do They Exist?
By Graham Baylis
So discounted holiday accommodation does exist, it is not, as some travel agents make only a myth, all you have to do is the research. Then again there are those that think that if its cheap it must be low-quality, this referring to the destination, the accommodation or both..
If you are interested in taking a holiday (summer or otherwise) and want to do it on the cheap, you are encouraged not to believe this popular myth.
So to find these discounted holidays, all you have to do is a little bit of research, the internet these days being far the easiest and fastest (gone are the days when you had to sit  in front of Teletext waiting for the ads to rotate).  Once you start looking, you’ll soon see that discounted are obtainable, for even the most popular summer holiday destinations, this being thanks to the holiday package as well as online coupons, and the price reductions brought about by competition.
The package holiday is one of the most popular ways that you or your family can save money when taking a holiday, the packages available today covering huge numbers of resorts, theme parks, golf trips and of course beach resorts.  Some of these packages may even be all-inclusive or they may just cover the room / accommodation, together with of course the flight etc to get you there.
In addition to the price reductions used to lure in additional holiday makers,  many popular holiday destinations also offer price reductions to families, even in some cases during the high season, especially if you book early, so instead of paying full price for your children, you may be able to receive a substantial discount.
Online coupons are another great way to obtain a savings, with many UK newspapers and   holiday destinations offering both online coupons and offline coupons.  Internet users often have the option of requesting a coupon booklet, and sometimes they can even print them directly off the web.  The only downside to using coupons is that you must remember to take them with you, because without them, you may be required to pay full price.
But remember while discounted are obtainable, it is important to note that not all destinations can be visited for a low price, but despite what you may believe, many of the most popular holiday destinations do offer valuable savings, so do keep looking.
You can research for your discounted using a number of methods.  If you already have a holiday destination in mind, you can search for discounts being offered in or around your intended destination, using the power of the Internet Search Engines to find all the possibilities. On the other hand if you have yet to select a destination, you can search for broader terms like “discounted

The first boat will be named IONA in recognition of such a big effort from a young girl.

ROSA in the News
